Baked potatoes stuffed with tender broccoli and a creamy potato-based sauce that mimics the experience of nacho cheese. This recipe is easy to make and offers a wonderful balance of crispy skinned baked potato with the creamy sauce filling. Enjoy it anytime of day as it’s made with only healing ingredients and both fat-free and dairy-free, so it’s easy on your liver and body if you’re trying to heal.

Broccoli & Cheese Potato
Nacho cheese sauce:
Preheat oven to 400F/200C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Arrange the potatoes on the baking sheet and pierce with a fork. Roast for 50-75 minutes, until cooked all the way through. Remove from oven and set aside.
While the potatoes are roasting, add a couple of inches of water to a medium-sized pot and place a steaming basket in it. Add the diced potato and carrot, cover and cook for 15-20 minutes until soft. Remove from heat and place in a blender. Add the turmeric, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne, lemon juice and water to the blender and blend until very smooth.
To prepare the broccoli, add a couple of inches of water to a medium-sized pot and place a steaming basket in it. Add the broccoli florets, cover and cook for 6-8 minutes until soft. Remove from heat.
To serve, cut an opening lengthwise through the potatoes and fill the cavity with broccoli florets. Drizzle a few tablespoons of nacho cheese sauce onto each potato and serve immediately. Enjoy!

Wild Blueberry Donuts
Preheat oven to 350F/180C. Lightly grease a 6-donut pan. Set aside.
In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the oat flour, brown rice flour, coconut sugar, and baking powder. Set aside. In another bowl, combine the almond milk, applesauce, coconut oil, and vanilla. Whisk until you get a uniform mixture.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry. Stir until evenly mixed. The batter should be very thick–add a bit more oat flour if needed to reach this consistency. Gently fold the wild blueberries into the batter. Spoon or pipe the batter into the greased donut pan.
Bake for 16-20, until lightly browned on top and toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes in the donut pan, then move to a wire rack and cool completely.
To make the glaze, add the blueberries, cashews, maple syrup, lemon juice, coconut oil, and wa-ter to a blender and blend until very smooth, scraping down the sides as needed. Dip the donuts in the glaze one by one. Best enjoyed on the day of baking and kept in an airtight container until needed.

A great pie recipe is a wonderful addition to any home cook’s repertoire, especially if it’s packed full of a incredible healing food like wild blueberries and is also made with clean ingredients. This pie recipe tastes amazing, along with being free of gluten, dairy, refined sugar, eggs, harmful oils, any other problematic ingredients.
While other food plants can only continue after a fire if their seeds survive and are replanted, wild blueberry plants can be burned to the ground, and they will come back stronger than ever. No other food on the planet has the ability to thrive in such trying conditions.
Wild Blueberry Pie
For the crust:
Preheat oven to 350F/180C.
To make the crust, combine the ground flaxseeds, applesauce, coconut sugar, and coconut oil in a bowl. Whisk until uniform. In another bowl, whisk together the oat flour, brown rice flour and tapioca flour. Add the wet ingredients to the dry and stir until you get a uniform soft dough. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Roll the dough out between two sheets of parchment paper, then transfer to a 9-inch pie dish. Using your hands, press the dough evenly into the bottom and sides of the dish. You can use a glass to flatten the bottom. Prick the dough a few times with a fork. Refrigerate until needed.
To make the crumble topping, combine the oat flour, brown rice flour, and coconut sugar in a small bowl. Whisk until uniform, then pour in the melted coconut oil. Rub the wet ingredients into the dry until you get a crumbly mixture. Set aside.
To make the filling, combine the wild blueberries, maple syrup, arrowroot. and lemon juice in a large saucepan. Bring the heat to medium-high and cook, stirring often, until you get a very thick mixture. Transfer filling to prepared crust and top with crumble. Bake for 25-35 minutes, until the crust is browned. Cool pie completely before serving.

This rustic vegetable stew is delicious and warming. It’s the perfect nourishment for a cold night or when you want a bowl of simple, home-cooked comfort. This recipe comes from the Revised and Expanded Edition of Medical Medium.
Potatoes are antiviral, they’re antifungal and antibacterial, with nutritional cofactors and coenzymes plus bioactive compounds to keep you healthy and assist you with stress.
Mushrooms help reduce fungus, bacteria, and viruses in the intestinal tract and liver.
Carrots are a quick liver refueling source of glucose that’s attached to minerals and vitamins.
Onions have antimicrobial sulfur compounds that expel unfriendly pathogens from the liver.
Place a large ceramic non-stick pot on medium-high heat and add the onions, mushrooms (if using), and carrots. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes, until the onions and carrots start to soften, adding a spoonful of water if needed.
Pour in the Healing Broth or water, place the lid on, and bring to a simmer. Cook covered for 10 minutes, until the potatoes and carrots are almost soft, and then remove the lid and cook for a further 5 minutes uncovered.
Add the chopped cabbage and stir until evenly mixed. Cook for 2 to 3 more minutes, until the cabbage is soft. Remove from heat and stir in the dill and parsley. Serve immediately.
When you’re choosing between water and Healing Broth for the ingredients, keep in mind that the broth will produce a richer flavor. Store-bought vegetable stock isn’t called for because it’s very difficult to find a variety that’s free of oil, salt, natural flavors, and/or other additives. For convenience, make a batch of Healing Broth in advance and freeze it (consider ice cube trays for easy thawing) so you have it on hand for recipes like this.

Wild Blueberry Bars
For the filling:

Preheat oven to 350F/180C. Line an 8x8 inch pan with parchment paper. Set aside.
To make the filling, place a small pot over medium-high heat. Add the wild blueberries, raw honey or maple syrup, lemon juice, arrowroot, and vanilla extract or powder. Stir until evenly mixed. Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook, stirring often, until thick and bubbly, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and set aside to cool for 10 minutes.
To make the base and topping, combine the oat flour, oats, coconut sugar and cinnamon in a large mixing bowl. Pour in the melted coconut oil and stir until the dough clumps together. Place 2 cups of the mixture into the prepared pan and set aside the rest. Press the mixture evenly to the base of the pan using your fingers or a flat-bottomed glass.
Pour the blueberry filling on top of the base and spread out evenly. Sprinkle the rest of the crumb mixture over the filling. Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the filling is bubbly and the top golden. Remove from oven and cool completely before slicing into bars.

This fantastic carrot cake is all about the spices. Cinnamon, vanilla, ginger, cardamom, and cloves pair beautifully with the raisins, carrot, and walnuts for a full-flavored and delicious cake. Enjoy the carrot cake alone or top it with the cashew icing.
Carrots are a quick liver-refueling source of glucose that’s attached to minerals and vitamins. Ginger helps calm spasms in the liver and regulate liver heat. Cardamom increases bile production and brings life and beneficial, nontoxic heat back to stagnant, sluggish livers that have overheated for years and are now cooling down.
Cashew icing (optional):
Preheat oven to 350F/180C. Line a 9-inch brownie pan with non-stick parchment paper. In a medium-sized bowl, whisk together the ground flaxseeds and water. Set aside for 5 minutes.
Add the almond milk, coconut oil, coconut sugar, and vanilla to the bowl. Whisk until uniform. In another bowl, add the oat flour, brown rice flour, chopped walnuts, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ground ginger, ground cardamom, and ground cloves. Whisk until uniform.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet, stirring until you get a uniform batter. Stir in the grated carrots and raisins until evenly dispersed. Pour batter into prepared brownie pan and bake for 40-45 minutes until browned on top and a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool for 5 minutes in the pan, then remove and cool completely on a cooling rack.
To make the cashew icing, combine the soaked cashews, maple sugar, coconut milk, and lemon juice in a high-speed blender and blend until very smooth, scraping down the sides as needed. Add a bit of water if necessary to blend. Refrigerate until needed.
When the cake has cooled, spread the icing evenly on the cake and top walnut pieces. Cut into squares and serve immediately.

The Immune System
In this day and age, one of the most important things we have is our immune system, and it is more critical now than ever that our immune systems are strong. When blood is being removed from the body, it is necessary to understand that a portion of the immune system is also being removed. Our blood contains white blood cells that are responsible for keeping the body strong and defending against sickness. When blood is drawn from the body, we lose many of these precious blood cells and are left with a lowered immune system and weakened defense mechanisms.
When an individual is sick with a symptom, condition, or chronic illness, they need their immune system strong. When blood is constantly being drawn for testing, this can potentially weaken the individual and slowly worsen their condition. As their condition worsens, red flags are raised for their healthcare provider and the recommendation may be to draw even more blood to find out why this person is declining. This can develop into a vicious and never-ending cycle for some and become a revolving door of blood removal, leaving the body unable to recoup fast enough. Meanwhile, the very real cause of this person’s chronic illness is getting stronger and stronger, because the immune system isn’t there at its full potential to defend against the real culprits of chronic illness. The Epstein-Barr Virus is one of these culprits.
Patients battling cancer that need an immune system at its best get large amounts of blood drawn on a regular basis, which does not allow their immune system to recuperate quick enough between blood draws. White blood cells can devour cancer cells and drawing blood diminishes those white blood cells.

Blood Draws and Testing
When blood is drawn, unneeded waste can occur. Systems are set in place to remove certain amounts of blood for each type of test, regardless of the circumstances, and without consideration of what someone’s condition may be, or other variables in their life, including hardships they may be going through, what kind of resources they have, if their diet is providing enough nutrients to keep their immune system strong, or even when their last blood draw occurred. Considerations should be taken about body weight, size, and gender of the individual before blood is drawn.
For example, it is common for the amount of blood drawn from a healthy 200 pound male to be the same as the amount drawn from a 100 pound, chronically ill female, without the consideration that this 100 pound female has less blood and a chronic condition that requires her immune system to be strong. How To Support Your Body
I believe in getting blood tested and in many occasions, doing so can be lifesaving. There are good doctors reading between the lines on blood tests and learning how to navigate and offer the best treatments for their patients. Balance is important and while doctors tend to order as many tests as they can with one blood draw, dividing the tests can allow less blood to be taken at once, allowing the patient to come back more often, and lessening the strain blood draws can have on their immune system. Don’t underestimate how toxic air fresheners and scented candles are. Even if you don’t use these in your own home, it doesn’t mean you’re not exposed in stores, doctors’ offices, public restrooms, or friends’ homes.
“We think that by using an air freshener, for example, we’re creating a more pleasing environment. Once we unleash that plug-in air freshener, though, our sense of smell instantly becomes disabled. When you’re living in a home or working in an office or other environment with a plug-in air freshener spewing chemical-laden oil into the air, you may not smell it anymore become you’ve become desensitized to that scent.
These chemically scented, vaporized poisons hurt the lungs—their waxy, oily residue builds up in the lung sacs. If you’re someone who doesn’t smoke and yet you love plug-in air fresheners, you’re better off removing your plug-in air freshener and starting to smoke. That’s right; you actually have a better chance of longer-lasting health and vitality without complicated diseases if you smoke cigarettes than if you breathe plug-in air fresheners day in and day out.
The oily film also ends up in the liver when it enters the bloodstream from the lungs. Plus we swallow air freshener when we breathe it in through our mouth, and that brings it to the intestinal tract, from which it enters the bloodstream and heads to the liver, where it can reduce liver function.
When the chemicals enter our bloodstream, our natural killer cells, lymphocytes, and other white blood cells absorb them, and that instantly weakens our immune cells and even kills some off. Our white blood cells need clean, fresh, oxygenated blood; with chemical scents, our white count becomes hindered. Exposure to a heavy dosage of air freshener or scented candle, or similar scent could mean three to four days of a weakened and lowered immune system. The synthetic scent chemicals can, at the same time, feed viruses and bacteria, allowing them to prosper and reproduce, leading to further illness. Someone who’s prone to urinary tract infections (UTIs), sinus infections, or flare-ups of fibromyalgia, ME/CFS, lupus, MS, eczema, psoriasis, or Hashimoto’s may experience a new flare-up following exposure.”
