Fruit Picking Meditation: Healing Anxiety & PTSD

Many of us have busy lives that keep us from getting in touch with nature, and have robbed us of the chance to partake in one of the most important aspects of nature – fruit picking. Why is fruit picking so important? Because picking fruit can heal anxiety, Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSS), and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), as well as rebuild your spirit, heart, and soul. Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome (PTSS) and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

If you're like most people, when you hear the term “post-traumatic stress disorder” you think of war veterans and survivors of a traumatic event. When your life is in imminent danger, your fear triggers a fight-or-flight response that floods your body with adrenaline, so that you can respond to the threat. Once the threat has passed you may experience emotional aftershocks. This is the classic form of PTSD recognized by therapists and psychiatrists. 

However, there’s an epidemic of hidden PTSD in our culture. In its true definition, PTSD involves lingering negative feelings that can result from any adverse experience—getting fired, the end of a relationship, chronic illness, or even just a time when you feel like you failed at something—and that limit a person in any way. These feelings can include fear, doubt, panic, avoidance, anger, hypervigilance, irritability, sadness, shame, vulnerability, distrust, and more. Fruit Picking Meditation

Picking fruit is one of the most powerful meditations in existence, and is a sacred act of respect and gratitude to the earthly mother for the miracle of food. Each piece of fruit still on the tree is living food, and connected through the plant’s roots to living water, deep within the earth. If you visit an apple orchard, and touch an apple on the tree, your cells will resonate with the apple’s grounded nature, and peace will spread throughout your body. When you take the time to focus on nature’s rhythms, you activate trust and faith within your soul. This can rewire your neurons, reverse anxiety, and heal PTSD, and your efforts to live a good life will be fruitful. 

The Fruit Picking Meditation is for anyone who does not have access to picking fruit, whether that is because of the time of year, or other circumstances. If you have picked fruit before, this meditation will let you experience it once again, reigniting your past experience, and activating healing in your soul. If you have never picked a piece of fruit in your life, the Fruit Picking Meditation will be just as powerful and healing for you.

Picking fruit is a part of your soul, spirit, and heart and therefore, helps to heal your soul, spirit, and heart. Reconnecting with fruit picking is like reconnecting to your soul’s very existence, and can help you find your way and live your life freely.

Your path will never be the same now that you have experienced fruit picking, which will begin to reverse PTSD, anxiety, broken trust, and anything that stands in your way of you becoming a fruitful, empowered, stronger, enlightened being.
